Big Week - Little Blog

Another rather busy week here in Cabaret Land!

I've had another full week of shows, skating rehearsals, photoshoots and 'real-life' work so I'm enjoying having a lazy Sunday off while working on a gorgeous bespoke headband for a customer of my Etsy store.

Roses and Rhinestones

This week I had two shows at the gorgeous Privee of Knightsbridge and a double Saturday show at beautiful Volupte Lounge. I had a shoot with Zebrowski Photography and hopefully got some good shots in there, and also took a trip to Cellar Door to watch Felixy Splits and Jaz Delorian perform a fabulous show!

Busy Busy!

Just Add Coffee...

Well I have had a remarkably busy week!

For those of you who may not know, I have a little part-time job in Covent Garden and I have put in a *lot* of extra hours this week as I aim to invest a chunk of money in a new act and I'm shoring up my defences against the cost!

Alongside working a full-time week (which I am *not* cut out for!) I have also had a couple of shows, ice-skating rehearsals, site visits for forthcoming shows, and business meetings! Somewhere in all of this I also found the time to finally set up my Etsy Store, so I am definitely enjoying an afternoon off today before I start all over again tomorrow!

I do love it though, and I'm not complaining at all!

I did manage to find a little time out though to go for a coffee with one of my favourite burlesque ladies, the gorgeous Chrys Columbine. I'm so pleased for her as she now has her own, amazing show at The Hippodrome Casino, starting in September. I'm going to the opening night and I can't wait!

With ice-skating rehearsals for Burlesque On Ice ramping up, I went with the shows producer for a site-visit to the venue: the fabulous Bush Hall in Shepherds Bush! It's so beautiful! We had an exhausting day laying out stage and seating plans, working out capacity and pretending to ice-skate across the carpet! As you do... :P

Also this week, I had a couple of shows: both at one of my favourite venues, Proud Cabaret, alongside two amazing line-ups!

Wednesday night is always a funny one as I never expect the audience to go wild so it's a pleasant surprise when they do - although it was probably helped by half of the cast of Burlesque On Ice being in the crowd! I loved the show and especially loved meeting the wonderful Missy Macabre properly at last.

Saturday was a typically raucous affair, buoyed by the audience being half stag parties which is an unusual occurrence! It was lovely to meet the host for the evening, Paul Roberts, as I'd heard a lot about him: he is a vintage-crooner host with a spine-tinglingly good voice (although all agreed; he reminds us all of the singing sword from 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' who in turn was inspired by Frank Sinatra, so that's all good really!)

And finally; I've set up a shop on Etsy and had two sales this week already - which has made me a rather happy bunny!

Get Your Skates On!

Well I've been not so cryptic over the last couple of blogs about a new project I'm involved in - and now I can officially announce that I have joined the cast of a fabulous new show...

Oooh yes! So I'm learning to ice skate and this will be my second home for the next couple of months!

At the moment I'm not particularly good, obviously - but I have until November to learn some good stuff and the show is running from the beginning of February so practise will make, if not perfect, at least proficient!

The cast so far is amazing and it's so exciting to be part of such a unique project. I've been to the rink four times this week and hopefully I can keep up a similar momentum!

In other news, I was back at the beautiful Proud Cabaret this weekend with a fabulous line-up

It was a bit of a bonkers night (or 'sausage fest' in the words of Mr. Morose!) as there were a *lot* of stag parties in, which is unusual for a burlesque night, but the whole crowd were lovely and every single act got an amazing response!

It's been a busy week with various things and I'm enjoying my Sunday pyjama day! I'm working on a couple of personal projects and will hopefully have them up and running in the next week or so but for now I'm off to do some off-ice training to get my ankles stronger for ice skating this week!
