Is This The Real Life? Is This Just Fantasy?

Crikey, where does the time go? I can't believe it's been nearly two months since my last blog!!

In my defence, I have been writing a blog, just not here: I've started back at university! And the assessments are done in the form of a blog so I've been working a lot on that. As previously mentioned I also have a 'real' job now as well so that's obviously been taking up a lot of time. It's fun though!

However, the beauty of this now is that I can pop back and forth between my real life and my cabaret life, as I have been for the last month or so - so here we go!

I've been Rocking The Kaff Bar in Brixton a couple of times: it's the most bonkers fun show and we always have a laugh - imagine a big kids party for drunk adults and you're half way there: sparklers, face paint, sausage rolls and a big curly wig all feature and it is the greatest night ever!

Speaking of Proud Cabaret, it is where I met my lovely man, and he finally moved on from the venue after four years! We obviously had to go out for drinks to celebrate!

In lovely-day-out news, I went with a group of the cabaret family to watch 'Briefs' at the London Wonderground, and it was fabulous fun! I also attended 'High Societease' at the gorgeous Kettner's where Chastity Belt and I enjoyed high tea while watching a lovely show!

I've also cut my hair (fringe!), been bought a onesie, started growing a chilli plant, seen a meerkat dressed as Dolly Parton, bought a vintage writing desk and got the cats to help me out with Uni coursework...

Come Rain Or Shine

Another busy couple of weeks! Being a grown-up in real life is hard! Thankfully I have my lovely Cabaret life to even things out...

A few weeks ago a group of us went to the most amazing little spot - a beach in Surrey! It's a man-made lake with a beach next to it and we spent a beautiful day sunbathing, playing in the lake and drinking champagne and cider. Absolute perfection.

I have to admit though, it made the next couple of shows rather difficult as I caught the sun more than I expected to...

However it did lead to the production of one of my favourite ever backstage photos as the team clubbed together to help cover my tan lines using fake tan, foundation, concealer, powder, talc, and whatever else came to hand...

Shows have been fun and included a couple of private parties alongside the public shows. The problem when I do private events is that I always forget to take pictures, although I did get given cupcakes.

Last week I was lucky enough to be able to go to the London Coliseum again to watch two of the best ballet dancers in the world *not* doing ballet! Natalia Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev have experimented with contemporary dance in 'Solo For Two' and it was wonderful!

In more banal news, I've been playing with my hair now that it's long enough to actually play with and experimenting with braids. It's fun.

And that's that for now - I'm poorly today so I'm off to hide underneath a hoodie, drink tea and watch Disney movies. It's a patented (by me) cure-all for any sort of sickness. And wine. Wine is also good. But I don't have wine so tea will have to do for now.

Christmas Countdown and Chrystals

This week has been pretty bonkers and I'm absolutely exhausted so I'm probably going to phone it in and just post lots and lots of pictures!

Twice this week I was up at the god-awful crack of dawn - not even dawn at this time of year! 4:45am! Glorian Gray and I had to be up for super-secret ninja skating rehearsals, which I could finally reveal, an hour before the performance on Wednesday evening, was the Christmas Light switch-on at Westfield Shepherds Bush!! Eeeeek!!!

I had a lovely day on Thursday, recovering from the previous night by meeting the beautiful Coco Malone and Chrys Columbine for afternoon tea, before eventually heading to the amazing Hippodrome Casino for Chrys's show the Chrystal Cabaret!

It was such an honour to be part of this incredible show in such a historic and renowned venue, and I thoroughly enjoyed every second.

Oh yes, it's a leopard print pointe shoe... part of my costume for Chrystal Cabaret (though any excuse, right?)
